Our Story

About Us

We are passionate in our belief that there is a huge benefit from storytelling and from reading the true experience of others.

‘A problem shared is a problem halved’ is a long-standing truth about the human condition. Sharing a story has a proven positive impact on others, for example it is the cornerstone of the 12 step recovery programmes. Learning from each other’s mistakes is also an excellent strategy for improving quality of life.

Research shows that there are multiple health benefits from storytelling, including recovery from trauma, improved wellbeing and decreased loneliness. You can learn more about the benefits of reading and sharing true life stories here.

Our Mission

Our Mission is to enable individuals to gain personal authentication, inspiration and advice through the sharing of True Life Stories.

Our primary vehicle for this is Stozzys.com, where individuals can, without charge, upload their personal true stories. These stories can also be searched and read for free and therefore the website is a searchable repository of truthful experience available to everyone seeking the experience and wisdom of others.

We want people to be able to tell their story in their own words and so we will limit any editing to simple moderation to exclude obscenity, hate and racism, personal identification and libel.

We aim for an international reach so that Stozzys.com is the place where people go first when they want to either upload a story or read a story written by others.

Humble Beginnings

The concept of Stozzys.com was founded by former charity Director and mother of two Michelle Carter-Foster over twenty years ago. As a young woman, Michelle unexpectedly experienced being a single-mother with a newborn and a two year old and the challenges and uncertainties that come with it. Michelle searched for information on the experiences of women in similar situations, knowing that there were many out there, but finding it difficult to locate them. As Michelle continued through life overcoming its various obstacles and connecting with others along the way, she realised that many of the people she spoke with also found comfort and inspiration in sharing their experiences with others or listening to others’ experiences. After collaborating with fellow charity Director Derek Mace in 2012, Stozzys.com was launched in 2018. Today there are three directors: Michelle, Derek and Michelle’s daughter Skye Carter.

Stozzys.com is proud to be based in Cornwall, England.
